Poppy Sweeting is a most remarkable Hufflepuff witch born between 1874 and 1875, whose story has captured the hearts of fans of the wizarding world. Her deep love for animals sets her apart from her fellow classmates.
Early Life
Poppy’s love for animals was evident from a young age, and despite her parents being poachers, or maybe because of it, she committed to protecting them. When she was old enough she severed ties with her parents and her grandmother helped shape her love for magical creatures and set her on the path to becoming a powerful advocate for their protection..
Life at Hogwarts
During her time at Hogwarts, Poppy was sorted into Hufflepuff. She knew a lot about magical creatures and used her knowledge to help protect them from poachers. She had a special friend, a hippogriff she named Highwing. Poppy also became close with a fifth-year student who loved animals just as much as she did.
Poppy’s skills in handling and caring for animals were remarkable, and she used her expertise to help protect near-extinct Golden Snidgets from poachers. Her dedication to this cause led her to seek out the help of the centaurs, even though it was a risky move.
Despite facing hostility from some of the centaurs, Poppy never wavered in her commitment to protecting the Snidgets. Her bravery in the face of danger, combined with her remarkable skills and knowledge, were a crucial part of her ability to preserve magical creatures.
Poppy's Legacy
Poppy’s legacy is inspiring! She was totally committed to safeguarding animals and had some serious skills and knowledge. Her story is a powerful reminder that we need to take care of our world and cherish it. Poppy’s example showed us that kindness and hard work can make a huge difference! Hogwarts Legacy - Game Quests
There are a total of eight side quests that you can do with Poppy, and each one offers a unique and exciting adventure.
Quest Summaries WARNING! May contain spoilers!
Fire and Vice – You and Poppy uncover that Horntail Hall is a dragon fighting ring arranged by poachers. Afterwards, you both fight and rescue the Hebdridean Black dragon from the poachers.
A Dragon Debrief – You meet up with Poppy to discuss a plan on how to return the egg that the Hebdridean Black dragon left behind.
Poached Egg – In this quest, Poppy locates the dragon’s whereabouts and together, you return the egg to its rightful place. Afterwards, Poppy becomes curious as to why the poachers haven’t retaliated against either of you yet. It’s not until she realizes that they had targeted someone else instead.
A Poacher’s House Call – This quest involves Poppy verifying that the poachers did, in fact, target her grandmother instead and stole her journal, which contained the location of a rare, long-lost creature called the Snidget. Together, you and Poppy make the decision to approach the centaurs for help against the poachers.
Surprise Meeting – In this quest, You and Poppy find the elder centaur, Dorran, in the Forbidden Forest. Dorran informs you about a cave and a moonstone that could possibly lead to the Snidgets. He suggests you both to investigate.
The Centaur and the Stone – Poppy successfully tracks down the cave’s location, and together, you obtain the moonstone. As you activate the stone, it sets off a Mooncalf dance.
It’s in the Stars – A quest where you show Dorran the intricate markings of the Mooncalf dance, which he wholeheartedly believes will guide you to the whereabouts of the Snidgets.
A Bird in the Hand – This is a quest where you go to the den where the Snidgets reside. You are followed and attacked by the poachers. Fortunately, centaurs come to your aid. After arriving at the den, you bear witness to the miraculous birth of three baby Snidgets. Dorran vows to ensure the safety of the Snidgets.
Poppy Blooms -In this final quest with Poppy You meet in the in the Great Hall, she confides in you this has been her most memorable and exhilarating year at Hogwarts. She shares her gratitude for her friendship with you and the centaurs.
